Beautifully Zero Waste Goods + A Giveaway From Whistlethorn
You know that friend who has a bright, well-organized, enviable kitchen? The place is somehow functional and picture-perfect; she composts and knows what a cordial wine glass is. Whistlethorn is the digital version of that friend—an organized, highly curated site promoting good design, environmental conservation, social responsibility, and simple living.
Whistlethorn is about a lifestyle of priorities over conveniences and less but better. A lot less because they are also dedicated to zero waste living. They accomplish this by offering timelessly beautiful goods, made ethically or found by them, that will help people live simply and sustainably. Whistlethorn carries goods for your bar, kitchen, and bathroom, but many items can be used pretty much anywhere in your home.
So dedicated to zero waste is Whistlethorn that they donate 5% of each purchase to support Be Zero, a nonprofit that inspires, educates, and activates individuals, families, and local communities to dramatically reduce their plastic and trash footprints and to create simple, sustainable lifestyle habits. In addition, Whistlethorn uses completely plastic-free, recyclable packaging, much of which is already from 100% recycled content or is sustainable—even their shipping labels are made of pre-consumer sugarcane waste and are entirely recyclable. This, my friends, is dedication.
Fortuitously, I wrote a piece for Leotie Lovely this week about going zero waste in the kitchen in which I explain zero waste is as much about organization as it is about dedication. You've got to arm yourself with the tools to make it happen (read all about it).
Kristen Bringe, founder of Whistlethorn, is here to help. She's giving away one of her zero waste starter kits plus an Abeego Food Wrap set to help one lucky winner get started with a zero waste kitchen.
